Approvals in workflows

An approval asks named people to approve or reject before the workflow goes on, and records the outcome. A review lets a reviewer choose between outcomes of your own.

Add an approval on the canvas

  1. Add it

From the People group of the palette, choose Add approval. Named approvers approve or reject; when no approver can be found, that never counts as an approval.

  2. Who approves

In its settings, set the Title shown to the approver and the approvers under Reviewers (from all sources), using Add a source.

  3. When it is decided

Under Decided when, choose who must approve (Approved by), whether to Allow self-approval, and an optional Due after.

  4. What happens next

Connect its approved and rejected ways out to the next steps.

Reviews

Add review adds a step where a reviewer chooses an outcome, and each outcome can branch. In Reach’s step-by-step editor, the Review / approval step does the same: a staff member approves or declines, and Resolve automatically names the Outcomes and what happens if nobody answers.

Approval before publishing

Pages’ approval before publishing — who approves, reminders and escalation in business days — is set under Settings & Integrations → Approvals in Pages. See Approvals in Pages.
