Fonts
Overview
Pages offers more than 70 fonts for headings and body text, the families other site builders offer as standard. Every font is free to use on your site. Designers and communications teams set the fonts on the Theme screen.
Before you start
You need a role with Theme: edit. See Roles and access.
Set the fonts
Open the theme
In the sidebar, select Site › Theme.
Open the type settings
Select Type & shape.
Open the font list
Select the Headings font. The list of fonts opens.
Find a font
Type a name in Search fonts, or select a shelf such as Serif or Display.
Select the font
Select a font in the list. The sample and the preview change.
Set the body font
Set Body copy the same way. Display and handwriting fonts are for headings only.
Save
Select Save theme. The site uses the fonts on its next page load.
Go back to the theme font
Reset the font
Select Reset beside the font. The site uses the font of the theme again.
Licences
Each font that Pages downloads is published under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. You can use it on your site at no cost.
Web-safe fonts, such as Arial and Georgia, are already on the reader’s device. Pages does not distribute them.

Troubleshooting
If the picker says a font is not in the catalogue, the theme names a font that Pages does not load. Select a font from the list, or host the font yourself.
If text shows in a different font for a moment, the font is still loading. Pages sizes the temporary font so the page does not move.
Good to know
Fast pages. A site loads only the two fonts its theme uses, and only the characters each language needs.
No jumping text. While a font loads, the text shows in a local font set to the same size. The lines stay where they are.
The font list. The list loads only the letters of each font name, and only for the rows you see.
Theme: colours, the starting point and the preview.
Colour and motion: presets, motion and section bands.
Site settings: the logo, contact details and footer.
Roles and access: who may change the theme.
