Ticket transfers
A ticket holder can give their place to someone else from their ticket page, and you can transfer a ticket for an attendee from the console. The new holder is emailed a new ticket; the old code and QR stop working at the door.
Choose whether tickets can be transferred
Open the event’s settings
Open the event and go to its Settings tab. The switches are in the Registration section.
Allow ticket transfers
On by default. Switch it off and ticket holders can no longer transfer their own tickets; you still can, from the Attendees tab.
Waive the transfer fee
Switch it on and paid tickets transfer without the transfer fee.
Save
Choose Save settings.
How a ticket holder transfers a ticket
Open the ticket page
The holder chooses View or cancel your registration in their confirmation email.
Start the transfer
Under Transfer this ticket, the page says whether a fee applies before anything is typed. They choose Transfer ticket.
Name the new holder
They enter the New ticket holder’s name, Their email address and, if they like, Their mobile number.
Confirm
With no fee, Transfer ticket moves the ticket at once. With a fee, Pay R50 and transfer opens the payment page, and the ticket moves when the payment is received.
Transfer a ticket for an attendee
Find the attendee
Open the event’s Attendees tab.
Transfer
Choose Transfer ticket beside a confirmed attendee. Enter the New ticket holder, their Email and, if you have it, their mobile number, then choose Transfer ticket.
Done
The new holder’s code is shown and both people are emailed. No transfer fee is charged when you transfer a ticket here, and it works even when Allow ticket transfers is off.
Good to know
The transfer fee. Transferring a paid ticket costs R50, or the equivalent in the ticket’s currency, unless you waive it. The holder pays it online, through the same payment page as your tickets, before the ticket moves. Free tickets transfer free. If your event cannot take payments online, holders of paid tickets cannot transfer them; you can, from Attendees.
What moves. The place moves with its ticket type, sessions and rooms, so nobody on the waiting list can take it in between. Answers to your registration questions stay with the person who gave them.
The old ticket. The old holder’s ticket page says This ticket was transferred, and their code and QR are refused at the door with Ticket transferred. In the attendee list, the old place shows as Transferred.
When a ticket cannot move. Only a confirmed ticket can be transferred, never one already used at the door or after the event has ended.
